Tabú was founded by Fernando Heras in 2006 as a new production facility aimed to manufacture sustainable furniture to service the ongoing sourcing and quality control business that had been running since 1998.
Tabú’s factory is located in Solo, Central Java, a strategic manufacturing hub known for its wood-crafting tradition. The showroom and sales office are located in Bali, where Tabú’s sales team is in constant touch with the market and Tabú’s designers initiate and follow latest design trends.
Their business has grown sustainably over the years thanks to Tabú’s portfolio of long-term clients and ever-growing new opportunities. They have continuously invested in their production assets and have maintained their initial core, managing to supply high-quality, sustainable furniture to some of the world’s largest retailers, developers and private villas, always incorporating Indonesia’s renowned artisanal craftsmanship into every piece.
